Welcome to the Coronado Tennis Association!
During Spring Break, Coronado children enjoyed a free Jr. Tennis Clinic sponsored by the Coronado Tennis Assn.
A Letter From Our President
As we reflect on the past year, our leagues, events tournaments, school contributions, free Jr. clinics, etc., we realize that these achievements could not have been accomplished without your membership in the CTA!
We also are fortunate to have a very dedicated board of directors, both past and present. A huge thank you to former board members Norm Richins, for his excellence as our treasurer, and Bob Balfour as our knowledgeable legal consultant. The 2013 board will continue to keep the ball moving: Larry Blum (Treasurer), Paige Hoffmann (Social), Alison Lancaster (Leagues), Nana Lee (Secretary), Phil Monroe (Membership Chair), Jim Nelson (Tournaments, Web Page), Jean Roesch (Publicity), Chris Toogood and myself. Your board gives their time and talents to make our CTA a success!
We also have wonderful volunteers: Bob Penn has Team Tennis off to another great start, Sue MacDonald is continuing our fun Sunday Mixers, Joetta Ragland has the Ladies RR filled up every Friday morning, Norm Funk encourages members to come out to the Wed. Night Mixers, and our League Capts. keep the competition going! Both Barrow Emerson and Norm Richins have contributed immensely to the success of the Sat, Men's Ladder, and now Jim Nelson has taken the helm. Thanks to Denny Nappen, the Eagle runs the weekly Men's Ladder scores.
Sue Hites, the City's Tennis Scheduler, uses her tennis expertise to run our outstanding tournaments, along with volunteers from the CTA.
When you are enjoying our lovely tennis center, please take a moment to check out 40-Love Tennis for your 10% CTA member discount. Daniel also has our CTA Men's and Women's shirts available for purchase.
Thank you all for your support of tennis in Coronado. Please don't hesitate to contact one of us with your suggestions for an even better 2013.
On behalf of the Board, I wish you the very best for a Happy and Healthy New Year!

CTA Junior Crown Cup Tennis Tournament
A BIG HIT!
A very busy weekend for Coronado junior tennis players! CTA Annual Jr. Crown Cup Tennis Tournament was held at the Tennis Center August 4 & 5. Tournament Director, Sue Hites could not have been happier with the local turn out of players and the quality of tennis exhibited. We had highly ranked players, playing with their friends and filling in for players who could not play due to injury or family commitments. Entrants played singles on Saturday and doubles on Sunday. The CTA would like to thank the tournament sponsors, 40 Love Tennis Shop and Mootime for gifts and prizes. They would also like to thank court monitors, Bob Penn, Rodney Nakamoto, Chris Lindsey, Phil Monroe and Gregory Zubkis for volunteering their time to help keep score, and call lines. Paige Hoffmann, Junior Coordinator with the CTA provided sandwiches, Phil Monroe provided waters and Sue McDonald assisted in all areas needed.
